That's true, MrSirLordGentleman, I do think the same. The rest of the band is average at most. And Train, Train is cool.

The t/t was written as a joke on the back of a cereal box to piss off the record company because they said no song on this album was a ready made radio hit but inexplicably the label actually liked it and insisted on including it and naming the album after it.
It is kinda fun though, I'll give you that, albeit in a cringey kinda way.

Also say what you will about this band but scattered around on this album and particularly their debut are some of the most infectious pop metal songs to come out of the tail end of the hair metal scene.

well then hell, i blame the damn label because the t/t dominates my perception of this album

Pretty sure the album was supposed to be called Uncle Tom's Cabin, which would be fitting as that's the clear album highlight.

You're absolutely right, JamieTwort, that's what I read as well. Although I personally think that Cherry Pie is a more fitting name for the album, as it's mostly glam/pop metal, and Uncle Tom's Cabin is more of an anomaly, not going too well with the themes on here. But a pretty cool song still.

Well, Titan, I'd say Warrant has better songs than Cherry Pie (the song) on Cherry Pie (the album). But it is definitely not a classic.

yes im with you dude, but at this point, it's safe for me to say that i'd never play this album ever again
|

There's a number of songs on here that I'm likely to play more than any material by most other bands of this style.

Fucking love this album. The title track is what it is, but Mr. Rainmaker and Uncle Tom's Cabin slay for hair metal.

I agree there, Titan. After having listened to the album for a few times to review, there is really no intent on my side to return to it in the near future.

Sorry, JamieTwort, Warrant has a few good songs on first three albums, but in no way they are better than some of the other hair metal bands (obviously, it is my personal preference).

Nicely put, MrSirLordGentleman

I'm not saying Warrant are one of the best hair metal bands or even that they released some of the best albums of the genre (far from it) just that a number of their songs are some of the most infectious tracks to come out of the scene.

i rather enjoy that one one song that is kinda terrible

Okay, JamieTwort, I get you now. Don't agree on "some of the most infectious" part, but it doesn't really matter though. To each his own. Long live hair metal )))
