I guess the eye catching part of this album title is the 'Galaxy' bit, and sure the album aims for a sci fi vibe, but actually it's the 'Travel' part that's key - the whole album sounds like movement, either racing through space or being chased by something.

I actually prefer this to 'Wormhole' so in answer I'd definitely say yes.

You have to listen to the album at the same time for the full experience :D

Fun album with all the tricks of the trade, but then again so was The Creeps back then. Wormhole is still lightyears ahead. That was groundbreaking.

I find this just more purely fun than Wormhole but I get that this is nowhere near as groundbreaking

Yeah, this has its very enjoyable moments. If Chubrub won't get those heads bobbing, nothing will

I've now concluded Wormhole is far more superior to this, and that continuous mix version of Wormhole is an insane journey

Thanks DePlazz - I usually set an hour limit for writing a review but I'll admit this took over two hours to write down, all the while playing the tracks on the album over and over trying to work out what I was picturing in my head.

Do you know if anyone else does similar stuff with the dark atmosphere and sci fi themes as successfully as these boys do?

Well for one thing I think most will agree that musically dark d'n'b just fits the atmosphere and 'feel' of sci-fi themes very well, regardless of whether track titles or an album's concept or artwork contain explicit sci-fi references. Ed Rush & Optical's The Creeps from 2000 has sci-fi themed artwork and is an album that for me is at least as consistent and enjoyable as this one. It's a very similar listening experience.
For 1997-2002 (haven't listened intensively outside of that period) I can think of the following artists and full-lengths:
Bad Company (UK) - Inside the machine 2000
Ram Trilogy - Molten Beats 1999
John B - Visions II: Synthetic 1998 (less dark, but heavily 'tech')
There's also some excellent compilations that often convey the atmosphere or consistency of a 'concept' album (and where sci-fi themes are also frequent):
- Metro Recordings - Level_01 1999
- Renegade Hardware - DnB Armageddon 1999
- Killabites 1 & 2 (mixed by Dom & Roland) 2000
And then there's the numerous 12inches and EP's on vinyl... Overall, anything ER & Optical did in that period was gold, whether together, individually or in collaboration with artists like Fierce, Trace or Matrix (Optical's brother). These are fantastic ep's:
- Ed Rush & Optical: Socom EP 2000
- Konflict: Maelstrom EP 2000
- Ram Trilogy: Titan EP 2000
- Usual Suspects: Lunacy EP 2001
As TVC15 said the Wormhole Mix CD is a total trip. Especially the middle stretch from Wormhole over Medicine (Matrix rmx) to Compound is simply untoppable.
(Sorry for ranting, this got out of hand quickly hehe)

Album should have stopped with Titanium. I'm digging the dark feel of that track, as well as Snaggletooth.

Yeah - if I had to cut two songs it'd be 'Space Monkey' and 'Move It'
Really this only needs to be 10 tracks long - and half of the tracks that remain could have their length cut by a minute or two

True. Track length is standard DnB fare though. Tunes are typically 6 minutes or so long, with an intro and buildup of around 2 minutes before the 'drop'. They're made to be dj-mixed.
I have been listening to No Cure as well lately. I was pleasantly surprised by it. I'm really getting into these guys again.
