@TheIntruder, as for the newest VDGG albums, there is more than Present. You also have to check both Trisector and A Grounding in Numbers, the latter being an easy listening album with catchy sections. Both albums are still in the vein of good old VDGG (or Hammill's solo stuff) in some ways. Less complex for sure, but still adventurous enough.

Alt on the other hand is really experimental and disjointed, and really hard to get into. I perso don't dig it. I guess their brand new album is gonna be a return to force. Hope so!
