Couldn't care less about the lyrics being uninspired considering every beatdown bands have terrible lyrics. It's all about execution and delivery and as you mentioned, how well the vocals are going to introduce and go along the next heavy part. He does a pretty good job at it throughout the entire album imo, just listen to "Counting Worms" and how efficient it is.
I'm glad they ditched out the generic beatdown sound and went with something a bit more metallic similar to what Jesus Piece is doing, only with a more polished production. It's not groundbreaking or anything but probably higher than a 2. Few weak tracks overall and album sure is a lot of fun if you enjoy groovy downtempo metalcore.

Was "Pop Culture" really that big? I never heard of this band until that Vine of the singer's sick mosh call (which is still the best thing this band has ever produced lmao). I could tell just from the art this was gonna suck.

Just hearing the whole album now. Just sounds like generic mosh stuff. Probably fun live, but won't be revisiting it too much. I do like that the alarm clock style mosh riff is coming back though.
