Brand New Eyes is their worst tbqh

Honestly I still don't know why I bothered listening to their entire discog given the fact I'm not really a fan of their music.

Oh wait, that's what I always do.

Fuck.

Strange, I think this is their best, and they went downhill from here. You really think their self-titled album was better?

Good review overall, though. I never picked up on the pacing but it is rather poor.

I prefer their self-titled album the most because it was mostly Alt-Rock instead of emo. I think the band members worked better in that regard.

I'd make the same criticisms that Asleep made up there, but otherwise good review! Well-written, just like the last one. And I agree with the review itself (except the score, of course), but this a lot better than their self-titled - of their first three, though, this is the worst. But still good, I used to adore Conspiracy, Franklin and My Heart, and I think they close the album perfectly.

this album has such a nostalgic vibe to me. songs like brighter, my heart and franklin just take you way back. also giving brighter the equal lowest track rating is just wrong tbh

Sorry @Brandon, it just doesn't do a ton for me. Totally agree with My Heart and Franklin though

@Blushful I'm glad you liked it! Those three are probably their best streak for a closer for sure.

@Caliggy I just guess I love the variety of self-titled, they feel free of any preconceptions and genre constraints and I love albums like that.

Agreed. They really went all out on the fourth album.

Brand New Eyes is great, I find this and Riot! to be pretty poor.

genre-fuckery is fun af, but it gotta be well composed too. for genre-bending stuff i'd go for diablo swing orchestra, or twelve foot ninja idk, though their s/t does have some good songs

@Caliggy Yeah. Fair, I could get behind that, I gave it a 4.5 myself. Probably review that soon too.

@Asdfp Any favorites? Future and Last Hope knocked it outta the park for me.

i think part ii is an obvious one, and yeah last hope is good too. future ain't that good but it's not bad

i just can't with "now", "still into you", "ain't it fun", "anklebiters" and the interludes, et al

Part II is a goddamn classic.

I just get a kick out of most of that stuff, it's a lot of fun I guess, even if sometimes it can be kinda annoying
