FANSD is really the only thing I like by these guys. Is this worth checking out?

Yeah, I'd say so. Album definitely has some songs that remind me of forget and not slow down. Some definite standouts are local construction, man, God, flower, and heartache

There's no way look on up even beats half of these.

I love Look On Up, but I realized the mood and feel of the song are very different from the summery sound of this album. There are some pretty old live performances of that song on YouTube so it seems that it was written long before most of the material here. It does seem to make more sense as a single.

Really liked your review on a first skim, but will need to read more in-depth to determine whether or not to pos. I'm kind of sad that I haven't listened to these guys much, but I guess better late than never. Just finished MMHMM and am eager for more.
Major congrats on getting featured, btw! It's been interesting to see my review of Switchfoot's new album and a review of Needtobreathe's latest two weeks in a row. There's lots of good Christian music being released right now, and I'm glad to see Sputnik acknowledging that.

this is one big meh for me. i can tell there's something of value here and that its a step up from their last attempt. remember when they did pop-punk?

One of my other reviews (I think for Pains Of Being Pure At Heart's last album) was featured too, but only for a day or so. I only write when it strikes me and the music I tend to write about (Japanese indie rock, Christian alternative bands) isn't usually front-page material.

I know you said in your review that Cat was just an alright song, but I love the end of that track. A lot of songs that are the vibey-pseudo-positive type really just don't hit for me but for some reason I really felt the joy from this one.

Halfway through and it's already an AOTY candidate. That might just be the fanboy talking though.

Empty House took me off guard but it has undeniable charm for exploring a place RK has never gone before, and Flower is absolutely beautiful. Barring these last 4 tracks Elephant Parade might be the best track on the album.

This might make my top 20, idk yet I have to listen to it more. There's just a couple of tracks irk me on here.

This is DELIGHTFUL. Their best.

Top 20 of the year? What tracks irk you?

Flower has quickly become one of my favorites, it's a beautiful song.

This might fall into 2nd place for me right behind FANSD. Mmhmm currently has that spot and has the advantage of nostalgia, but this is a solid album that could take over.

They dropped a lot of the nebulous cringe-factor elements that made them too much of a guilty pleasure to enjoy most songs before. Matured quite a bit without totally changing what makes them recognizable. Really like most of these songs! Catchy as hell.

Nomos, yeah I still enjoy that they can take seemingly kid-ish things and make them work (flowers, elephants, cat, etc.)

"And collapsible lung is definitely one of my favorites; second only to mmhm."
I feel really sorry for you right now. [2]
