Ben, does something about the vocals on this remind you of Lydia? Or is it just me? I'm listening to this now and it's reminding me of SOMETHING I can't pinpoint - particularly Knots.

Yeah Blushful I'd agree. It's actually one of the things that put me off Lydia a bit as the vox on this and a few other bands (Peirce the Veil in particular when they're being more subdued) are so similar that whenever I listen to Lydia I'm reminded of these other significantly worse bands

You're right, I think that must be it. Pierce the Veil's a good example, I used to listen to them when I was smaller, so it'd make sense that it sounds so familiar, too. Something about it's just a little off-putting, right? Even when it comes to Lydia, though I quite like the vocals on Illuminate.

Yeah definitely. I also enjoy the vox on Illuminate, they fit well and the lyrics are an awful lot better than on this and Pierce the Veil's work, it's just kind of a mind association thing that, as you said, is off-putting at times. I know some people have experienced a similar thing with Thank You Scientists work, the vocal style being one they associate with lesser artists that puts them off the band, despite the band having alot going for it
