I read online that the kid (actually Pete's kid) is from their website and the goat cover is the general one.

Let's get this thread up and running, since the other thread turned into a shitstorm.

Album is actually really good, and I love the guitar tone.

It feels oddly nostalgic for me and the album makes me feel like I'm in 2004

I guess ill give this a try, I was not a fan of Hats Off to the Bull and La Gregola didnt sound too hot from the two tracks I heard off of it, but maybe this will change my mind.

Concensus is that HOTTB was one of their weaker releases and I personally thought La Gargola wasn't the greatest

Haven't heard this yet, but judging from people's reactions, this might be a good place to start with Chevelle, CL0VER

EDIT: or give them a second try (misread part of your comment)

Joyride is easily one of the weakest here, and probably Enemies. Rest of the album caught me by surprise, shits reeeaalllyy good.

Clover, man you gotta listen to La Gargola all the way through a few times. It has the most cohesive sound of any Chevelle album in my opinion. It definitely has a haunting feel to it.

The last 5 songs are all tied for me. (From Young Wicked to Shot from a Cannon)

Warhols Showbiz is a banger, in fact there isn't a song on this album that isn't a banger

The bass on this album is fantastic; as a bassist myself, it makes me feel a tad bit less underappreciated.

Between a 4 and 4.5 on this one, probably their best to date. The Last Days is such a jam.

welp

they were definitely right about this being their heaviest album in years

but while I certainly get why people are excited about that, I honestly like melodic Chevelle better. Still tons of great tunes here and nothing I disliked except Enemies (wtf was that mixing? so mediocre), so 3.5 for now. Hoping it grows on me.

4.2 average on release day? Definitely a Chevelle release.
