Love this but I am completely bias towards anything this band puts on so take it with a grain of salt. Wish they had more parts like the end of Whatever, Whenever and Empty Palms where it's just beautiful intricate guitar work but not just for the sake of it. Henry's yelpy vocals tend to be a bit much at times, as well. Great review! We all know how much potential this band has and it's frightening that they may never get there.

All of their songs are the same, but it's a pretty decent song

Some songs on their last album had some awesome riffs

One thing I found really interesting about this release is that it was all recorded live on tape. That's super impressive, especially for music like this.

Definitely a cool feat (and shows how tightknit they are live), but I think that came with the cost of the vocal polish
also lol these symmetrical ratings

It takes some confidence to saddle an album with that name.

Great review. I agree with everything except your assessment of "Empty Palms." The riff that kicks in at the 3-minute mark is probably the most memorable from the album. It helps that the whole song reeks of American Football.

I've recognized the repeated motifs in the 3 songs I mentioned felt aimless here.
Damn shame I can't remember a single one of them as soon as each one ends - in general though, they're growing on me still

Band could be so fucking cool if they changed their sound up

you can only do so much with math rock

There are ways to do imaginative and engaging math rock but these guys don't quite get it

For a genre that's supposed to be unpredictable and out there this is so tame and by the numbers
|

Sounds like this is one of those cases where the album name describes the experience.
|
| |
pretty fucked up how many ripe ass jokes referencing the album title this soundoff completely ignored
