COF is seriously killing it at the minute,

Hammer of the Witches was awesome.

--You're on a roll with these reviews! I'm more likely to check out the Fates Warning album over this one but I'm a big fan of how you integrated historical context with what this album sounds like.--

Thanks. Yeah, I think the Fates Warning album is more your thing, and it is really good.

--very curious to hear the new vocals and extra guitar leads on here--

Not really 'new' vocals. New vocals for this album, but similar to Principle and Vempire. There's more than new guitar leads, though. There's new lyrics (and missing lyrics), different keyboard parts, altered riffs. There is definitely still a lot of the Music for Nations version, too, but just as a foundation.

--I'm not HUGE into CoF, but I like a few songs. Tried to listen to Dusk and Her Embrace and I just couldn't take Dani's vocals seriously, they were just SO high pitched.--

Yeah. Those vocals are used occasionally for accentuation, but aren't the main style like they are on the final version of the album.

I should be into these guys, but Cruelty and the Beast is the only record of theirs that I have listened to fully.

Their new one is awesome and you'd probably like it if you liked Cruelty. This one is pretty damn good, too, though.

Poet bro listen to Vempire, Dusk, Midian, and Hammer asap and then go to Thornography and Nymphetamine if you dig them.

Thornography and Nymphetamine aren't all that good, IMO. The edited title track of Nymphetamine with the ex-vocalist from Theatre of Tragedy is good.

full Nymphetamine is so much better than the shorter version tho. It has all those aggressive parts that riff pretty well.

Yeah, but they're so out of place on that song. The edited version where they're removed sounds more 'normal' or how it should be.

Guitar Driven COF is always the best. Dusk, Midian and Hammer proves that

Nymphetamine is the musical equal to an average looking girl that you really wanna sleep with but can't quite identify as to why.

Unfortunately, haven't heard the original... Should I start here or start with the original release?

Still jam Hammer hard, what a return.
