This is a huge improvement, considering Mirage Rock was just awful.

it seems like an improvement just based off of the singles but idk if I wanna check the whole thing

I just read this review and got absolutely nothing from it.

not sure if it's awful but it confuses me a lot

Ok, just reread it again to make sure I wasn't just casually drifting through it and even at the best of times it's hard to follow. I pretty much pulled nothing from it in terms of what this album entails.
Gotta NEG this... needs some major revision. Sounds like a ramble in an english dialect that I cannot comprehend.

"Band of Horses breed suburban chicanery with family life--porch, garage, lawn, and promenade--poppycocks, still musing the belief that the indie consensus, anent folk undertones and hip references, will somewhere along the line match their own; probably by virtue of all the 'ish' Americana entails."
like what?

Yeah I read that piece by piece to make sense of it and nope.

Not as good as their work through Infinite Arms, but I like this pretty alright. It's mellow and nostalgic, and I definitely connect to it more than Mirage Rock. Pretty easy listening, which is good enough for me

everything up to In A Drawer is actually really good but when they start trying to be an alt-country band it gets fucking awful and boring. second half is baddddd

Album Rating: 3.5
In a Drawer, Hag, Casual Party, and Dull Times/The Moon are all really solid tracks tbh. might give this a 3.5 but it's in between 3 and 3.5 cuz the latter half is so borrrrringggg
