Okay, seriously, as a huge Shinedown fan, this is their worst album. Does not deserve a better overall rating than their other two. It's decent, but they get way better on the next 2 albums. This is really repetitive and often musically bland.

Yeah it's grown on me since I posted that, I had it at a 3 when I said that. Some songs on here are really good, it just runs together a bit and gets repetitive.

The fuck, this is their best album....

Not to be a total prick, but your descriptions of each track had an awkward pattern to them, almost like desribing the whole song with words. Other than that, solid review. Can't get into this album, though

They definitely took a more accessible approach on this album, and are now selling out venues here in Iowa. Most of the songs on The Sound of Madness could of easily became a single. I cant think of another band that I heard on the radio more than Shinedown this year, and got a feeling they're gonna expand on their "new" sound.

I think accessible was the way to go for them, honestly.

still love this album

This is the classic post-grunge sound I like...I don't know why everyone has abandoned it.
