Megami and Sapphire is an absolute monster pairing, cannot get enough of them together
This album has grown into the same retro-future niche The Gathering's mid-career stuff (especially If_Then_Else) did for me, going to tie up some more of those late 90s/early 00s vibes into a mix (and maybe a list ;])

The whole industrial rock asthetic definetly reminds me off of If_Then_Else, although they sound entirely different. Album is underatted, Flame is one of their best closers.

Yup exactly! Do you have any recs that carry on in their vein? Flame is fabulous, whole second half of this is ace

Most of their albums are pretty different from the others, so you won't find an album exactly like this. Cosmos also has great industrial vibes and is more experimental. Kyokutou, I love you is probally the album that is most similiar to this, along with Sexy Stream Liner. I'd recommend Cosmos first, since it's probally their best album from their post Darkness era. I couldn't really get into Sexy Stream Liner, its a weird album I could never get into and Kyokutou can also be pretty hit/mis. The only album you can go wrong with is their first two, so give everything a shot if you can.

No album they've done feels more of their time more than this for me, why it gives me good memories and is so distinct.
I'm gonna give Kyokutou some love here because I find it one of the most admirable things they did after watching Warp Days and it has my fav song by them on it.

Aaaagh that vocal sample in Sapphire is disgustingly slick, so so infectious
Which Kyokutou song is that?

Why does Cosmos not have a thread and can the bass in SANE give me a literal real life authentic back massage hmm

this album goes off

This album is the most melodramatic shit in the universe and I think you might have the correct rating. There are a few too many lows for my liking, but most of it is top-tier BT

yeah everything i've heard from them in the 90s has been insane, i think this or six/nine might be my fave right now

Cosmos is a bit better than this imo, but they are both definitely the best of the BT electronic era. Could listen to any of the buck tick albums before 2005 endlessly if I'm being totally honest, easily my favourite band.

Cosmos is up there, I wish more songs on it were like the last song. Style 93 is almost a 5 for me too.

The whole Cyberpunk era has such a special atmosphere that's so of its time. Makes me happy whenever I hear it.

Cain is almost as sexy as Sapphire, damn this album goes hard
