I agree with it being Lost Forever Part 2, but Daybreaker Pt 3? That album still had a lot of THAN left in it, and this doesn't

I've tried to give every Architects album a fair go after the promise they originally showed with their first albums, but with this latest one and their last album I can barely get through a single song without being bored to death. Monotonous guitar chugging, third rate breakdowns, and Sam's trade mark 'blegh's make up every single new Architects song just about along with trite electronic ambience in the background. I can barely tell each song apart. Daybreaker at least had Devils Island and These Colours Don't Run, and even THAN had Red Eyes and Year In Year Out. But theres nothing remotely memorable about their latest output.
Anyway they've clearly found their niche, and if they want to play it safe then good on them, I wish them all the success. No idea who they're fooling though by saying they didn't want to make a Lost Together part two however.

Agree completely Loveless, songs sounded way too similar and boring

I do wish they'd do a mix of their first three albums but alas.

lol

They didn't change again though, they just made the same album practically four albums in a row.

Three times. They made three completely different and awesome albums, made one total sell out record that they have basically disowned and then went on to make the same album three times in a row.

Honestly, their first three albums weren't all that different from each-other but they managed the style very well where this is just pretty bad and mostly lifeless.
|
| |
Bro other than being mathy metalcore they were totally different
Nightmares was energetic and techy, Ruin was deep and pummeling, Hollow Crown brought back some of the energy but with a poppier edge

Gravity and From the Wilderness are the only ones I'll ever come back to

I enjoyed Lost Forever so I bet I'll enjoy this. tbh Lost Forever reminded me a bit of bmth There is a Hell era.

"that prog metal tag tho"
seriously the most overused tag on this site imo. Gets put on any band if they use some ambiance in an album. Getting fucking ridiculous
