However, whenever I listen to 'Curse of the Sun' I get an extreme Smashing Pumpkin vibe, which seems a more apt comparison. The chorus has a total grunge feel, though not as SP-specific. In fact the riff between the vocals on the chorus is eerily similar to Collective Soul's "Shine."

The music is well produced and everything but I think the vocals sound very blurry, they probably need to sit on top of the mix. Its hard to make out the words. It is very generic this song.
