Agree, Flugmorph. It doesn't reward a lack of patience.

The following two statements are truth.
These guys are really good at what they do.
What they do bores the crap out of me.
I think this is slightly better then Oceans (and miles ahead of monolith) but I'm still sad they decided to stick with thier slower heavier sound.
I keep hoping they're gonna use thier now vastly superior songwriting skills to bust out a real feels-filled jam but alas.
Can't say this isn't good but it's definitely not for me.

While I personally love the approach taken here, and would love to see more of it, I think the severe lack of bands in general who sound anything like In Mourning's debut does really suck. I don't want In Mourning to return to that sound, but I wish some other bands would take what they did there and (fingers crossed) improve on it.

this has some of the most painfully dull production out there, no highs at all

pretty 'great' stuff on here.
Obvious opeth influence tho which is not a bad thing

ye production 's pretty crappy

I thought so as well. Kinda deterred me from getting into this. Don't flame me, I'm not a purist, just thought it suffered from the same problems as some recent Insomnium production.

Production is very flat. Totally understandable, DungeonBoy.

Hmm, not really impressed, some parts are cool but often it is pretty boring

Great album. On a full listen it sounds a lot less like Opeth than giving it a quick skim made me think it would.

New track is solid

Yeah, I've had a song from this band in my Watch Later and saw the video. It's a really good song

I listened to Monolith when it came out back in 2010 and loved it. Saw them live about two years ago (really great live band, one of the few where three guitarists actually worked), but never really checked out their other stuff. New track is really great, I think it's time to dive into this band a little deeper.

Weight of Oceans is great.
