Yeah. He looks crazy most of the time regardless.

The one where he is in the leather suit is even better, it's hilarious. He probably looks back on that

In My Dreams with You and Still My Bleeding Heart are so good. Devin's vocals in those are some of his best. Overall this album very enjoyable, for me at least.

I love albums like this, as they're so critically maligned hardly anyone bothers to check them out, yet for those few that do they get to experience one of the most unrestrained and amazing vocal performances ever

People actually listen to Vai's solo stuff? Odd
|

Also love how more Devy fans listen to this than Vai fans

Down Deep Into The Pain is awesome, riffs hard. Still a great jam.

Him with Zappa dude.

Oh did he actually appear on any Zap albums? I thought he just toured with him

You Are What You Is, Ship Arriving Too Late, The Man from Utopia, and Them or Us all have Vai on them.

How sad it is to be practicing tenaciously for years and years, to put your heart and soul to master the music theory and have ZERO talent at songwriting. Writing songs that have no value at all and hardly anyone will remember after years and years. Players like Steve Vai epitomize the generation of guitarists who only value technical proficiency and wankery instead of constructing listenable and interesting songs. They can be very impressive with a guitar but when it comes down to the most important thing, the music, god, do they fucking suck...
I will always prefer listening to interesting and listenable music rather than this shit...
And to think that his previous album was actually good, you just end up wondering how the hell this happened...

This is pretty enjoyable in parts I think. Some great jams, the rest is passable. It def doesn't fully tap the potential of this incredible lineup though.

Having a vocalist sing stupid lyrics in this musical enviroment doesn't help very much either. Make these songs instrumentals, trim most of the fillers, work some of the songs and you have a decent 45 minutes record. Otherwise, it's not working. For me at least...
