Clarity is a gem, don't know why people don't mention it a lot.

lol what i mean by that is if i try to remove bias that's based on specific previous experiences that i have been used to attach sentiment to an album, such that i can judge based on which album i think sounds better (which is still subjective as all music tastes are). i think this is better than earth is not a cold dead place, but its hard to ignore the sentiment that teinacdp gives me, which is purely conditional upon the fact that the album came out a long time ago when i was in a more emotional state. so for personal reasons NOT related to how the music sounds, i put teinacdp as equal to this, maybe. when i said "objective" what i really meant was "without personal bias". its still all subjective, but personal bias is a little different. you can have subjective opinions that are without any bias.

im exagerating that to make my point clear about objective vs subjective vs bias. in reality the albums are a lot closer together than that. they are all classics to me and are more or less equal in my mind.

Ahh fair enough and I completely understand and somewhat agree. I tend to think that how we use music in our lives also impacts our love for certain songs or albums, which are factored into how I would rank my favourites, personally.

me too. if i tried to completely remove personal bias/sentiment and went based on which album i think sounds the best all round and i enjoy the most, kayo dot's choir of the eye would knock all of the others off the top spot.

Anyone heard of My Latest Novel? A great underrated Scottish band, can conjure atmosphere really well. I think TWBF would do well to employ woodwind in the same way they do.

Huh, I thought the lyrics revolved around one whole town or city and how it has affected different individuals, since he mentions South Street a couple of times and the city "burning" on Elder and Oak.

This guy's voice is incredible... I think that's mostly because he's sporting an accent though TEE HEE
