First song is kinda Meatloaf-y, but less bombastic. Interesting.

Definitely an amazing album. Some songs aren't as strong, but it's damn fun overall.

Never could get into these guys but fuck it, it's worth another shot. Nice review

Well its high time I've started to listen to this band, I love Kamelot, so this might be good.

Hey Emyay, it's still a better band name than Rainbow Butt Monkeys (the original name of Finger Eleven).

I recently learned that this is what Sascha Paeth had been doing with his time and it sounds suitably Ayreon-y, so I'll have to check.

Sold me with the first sentence.

Thanks a lot for the info Xeno, you're a good man!
Your review did make me interested in listening to this, I have not played Tobias for some time now...

Nothing hypes me more than an Avantasia/Edguy release, this is their best yet for sure, I even legit bought it XD

I listened to Ghostlights once as it came out on Spotify and I loved it.
I can see myself jamming this over and over again, it's a 4.0 at the moment.

Apparently he wanted to collaborate with Meat Loaf, but it couldn't happen.

lol for real?

This is pretty awesome, never really jammed a lot of Avantasia, but was always a fan of older Ed Guy, especially Hellfire Club and Tobias Sammet is totally killing it on this. Only got to check out a couple songs, but I'm stoked to hear the whole thing.

It's a shame the only way to see Avantasia in full is to go to Wacken. Oh well, at least Tobias pumps out the live footage
|
| |
If he already went to Dee Snyder, I guess Meat Loaf isn't too far a logical leap from there...

I don't know what it is about this album, but it just nails it on so many levels for me. I haven't enjoyed a power metal this much in years. It has an awesome mix of rock opera, 80's metal, and straight up symphonic power metal. That title track rips for days. Sure it's super cheesy, but there's something genuine about it, and Sammet still has some killer pipes.
