Well, Bose has some punch, thats for sure . But hell it was such a shock and awe for me when i listened this on proper stereo... I m pretty sure its incredible live too. Did you know the next album continues exactly from where this one stops?

This has one of the most unbelievable atmospheres in post metal. The entire intro of Itinérant is stunning.

Very close to a 5. I wish it wouldn't drag as much near the end. Everything else is perfection this is so intense.

I can't get into this even though so many people told me it is a classic of post metal. The vocals are so damn identical throughout the whole record and it makes the whole so monotonous. So far Absent is the track I like the most because the vocals are in the background! The instrumentals are nice, but I don't think I'll go over a 3.5

Album is undeniably exceptional. One of the best post metal albums around for sure.

I'd say Buried Inside's Chronoclast, but at the same time its very different from this. It has kinda same guitar wall of sound, but BI is way more dark and suffocating with rare ambient moments.

Seriously that sudden explosion back to spacey metal in Itinérant gives me goose bumps.

Unfortunately I always see these guys in Cult of Luna and Isis' shadow for some reason even though it doesn't sound all that similar

Nothing sounds like this , especially with the two disks synced. I have never heard a post metal band use use so many guitar tracks in one song.

This might be an Isis shadow if you are unfamiliar with genre, but the hell with namecalling, this album is really fuckin epic on its own terms.

That's still my least favorite part actually, but this is a hard 5 now. It's so dense and has a surprising amount of emotional depth for a metal album. I gotta edit this soon.
