i agree with some stuff you say but this review doesn't really have anything to do with the album, you're just talking about Drake in general.

If you're going to rate an album this low it would really help if your personal bias didn't shine through so glaringly

Also that parenthetical stating your opinion on Kanye is, like, insanely childish and weird

It's a shame because there's a decent review in here somewhere, but wading through all of the shit surrounding it makes it impossible to POS this

"If you're going to rate an album this low it would help I'd your personal bias didn't show".
Music tastes are entirely subjective so suggesting that my opinion should be devoid of "bias" is just silliness

"Also that parenthetical stating your opinion on Kanye is childish"
Considering how closely he's chosen to graph his artistry I'd day it's a necessary discussion to have. Also, very fascinated to hear your thoughts on the childish nature of comparing two artists in one review

"Music tastes are entirely subjective so suggesting that my opinion should be devoid of "bias" is just silliness"
non sequitur. you're biased when it comes to your music tastes, but that doesn't mean you must let your biases on whether you like drake as a person shine through your rating.

Uh please direct me to a section where I made a character judgement on Drake. All of my criticisms revolve around the lyrics, production, and delivery of his music. Which I find to be comprehensively bad

t'wasn't me who accused you of that, just lettin you know your argument is bullshit

Firstly, comparing an artist to another is fine (to an extent) but it's unnecessary to voice your opinion of Kanye in a review about another artist. That parenthetical is a complete non-sequitur that has no bearing whatsoever on the review. Just review a Kanye album and voice your opinion in there if you want it to be heard. The childishness I was referring to isn't in your comparing of the two (although the comparisons are pretty thin and unnecessary, also), but in your need to make your love for Kanye known to the reader... in a review of a Drake album... as an aside. It reeks of fandom and just does not read well at all.
Secondly, there is a huge difference between subjectivity and bias--this review reads as if you went into writing it with the preconceived notion that Drake is a terrible artist and you let that pervade the entirety of your article. This is bias. Subjectivity is inherent to an op ed article such as an album review; bias is not.

But I mean whatever you can defensively rebut my criticisms, I'm just trying to help you out for future reviews man.
¯_(ツ)_/¯

I don't disagree with ya temp but I think the review was basically written to express the preconceived notion that Drake is a terrible artist, for better or, probably, worse.
|

I mean the review isn't terrible but I don't come away from it really understanding what you're trying to say, Onyx. Outside of "Drake is bad," which is realistically kind of tangential to the album itself.

"What is Drake bringing to the table that's uniquely his?
listenable hip hop"
lol

| |
yah it's p. obvious the review is more about drake himself rather than the album
