A couple of things made soad faulter a bit for me.
Daron playing an sg instead of his ibanez iceman and tuning up to c# was really noticable to me, i much prefer the old sound on the previous 3 albums.
Serj taking a more melodic approach to his vocals and not screaming as much. Also his voice sounds more nasel, i think his screaming days were on their way out, probably what led to their hiatus.
Daron taking lead vocals more, i do prefer serj's voice, although daron works excellent in places like P.L.U.C.K for example, he needs to hold back a bit imo.
