Th costumes are great, has to be one of the most covered songs on the planet, besides 5 different Dylan covers

Costumes? Blows the original out of water. And of course the costumes are great, Johnny was a much more handsome man than the Stones.

@manosg This is only a matter of taste, but for me, not even the Stones could recapture the original's brilliance on live shows. The studio version has a threat and menace that sorely lacks in Winter's approach. There is great playing on his cover, but the song (and the group, eventually) doesn't require solos and drum bashing, imo. Not to mention that Winter's way too raspy vocal approach doesn't even come close to Jagger's more nuanced and climactic delivery. Just my 2 cents

Definitely a matter of taste. I've always been a bigger fan of the blues rather than roots rock or brit invasion and that's probably the reason that I'm not a big fan of the Stones. I consider them a great "singles" band but never enjoyed an album of theirs as much as Johnny Winter's s/t. Was just messing with wham49 and his taste.

I'm surprised by you knowing your taste a little bit , thought you would be a deep cut stones guy, Torn and Frayed, Jigsaw Puzzle, family, monkey man etc, Love Johnny too, but the cape is great and to be better looking than the stones is not very hard to do

hahaha agreed. Dunno man, Torn and Frayed is a great song but I'm not a big fan of the other tracks you mentioned or even Exile as a whole. The only albums of theirs I really love are Let it Bleed and Sticky Fingers.
