Earth Rocker was probably their worst record. I don't understand the praise at all. This one however is much better to my ears. Kinda sounds like their older stuff and brings back more of the groove and blues.

Wow disagree hard on Earth Rocker.
I think the production/mixing on Earth Rocker was way better than on here. I mean, I love Tim's riffs as much as the next guy, but Neil sometimes seems to be drowned out by them. Also the drums just don't sound right on a few songs.

Earth Rocker was getting close to Monster Magnet territory. Too close to out and out comedy metal for me.
This has an Elephant Riders feel so might check.
Elephant Riders is the Clutch album with the most intriguing personality for me and just doesn't go all out for the devil horns and lols. I liked the old timey setting and the fact all the songs were true well written songs each with a unique personality. In all honesty they're not an album band, they're now a live act who pepper albums with bangers for live shows

This is definitely a little less whacky.

Definitely check Elephant Riders Ed, the production and lack of aggression will be unappealing at first but the song writing and lyrics are great stuff

"There comes a time in everyone’s life when you must admit that you’ll never be as cool as Neil Fallon."
Indeed. That realization came to me after Earth Rocker came out. Have a pos.

Not as majestic as Earth Rocker but still rocks amazingly hard. I mean have these guys released anything bad?

I wish Neil Fallon was my dad

Agreed with all people saying Earth Rocker was unexpectedly overrated. I bought it recently and listened a bit and it was so simplistic and didn't have much to sink one's teeth into, not even close to their best stuff. What I've heard of this sounds like a more expanded version but I haven't listened all the way through so I gotta reserve judgment.

+1 on to Doofus's perspective on Elephant Riders. Blast Tyrant will always be my most played album, but elephant riders just has such a unique personality. Don't walk around to that album though, because as soon as the verse of Ship of Gold hits, you can't help but do a pimp walk and look like a fool.

I actually think I dig this more than Earth Rocker. This band's discography is insane. You could probably make a pretty good argument for any of their albums being their best. Their sound really hasn't changed too much, yet they still evade being boring. Pretty amazing. They've been the best thing in rock for over a decade.

Is there a reason why this isn't on Apple Music? Was it only released to the U.S. ITunes store?
