Was listening to a few of Dicky's old pre-LP mixtape tracks (Jewish Flow, Famous Dude, Ex-Boyfriend, White Dude) and can't help but think that he latched on to the wrong type of tongue-in-cheek side of his flow (i.e the shitty Brain stuff, the freaky friday and Earth bullshit). Those mixtape tracks were bumpin and sometimes downright clever and the guy definitely has some technical chops. Kind of a bummer, but not too hard to see the funny-guy rapper eventually wearing out his welcome... From this LP, though, Lemme Freak and $ave Dat Money are pretty enjoyable and emblematic of that era of music - so I'm happy they exist.
