yeah this is really, really good. the keyboards especially are better than they have been for like the past 10 years. this album is so much heavier than what they've been doing, which i think is a much needed change of pace.

Probably my AOTY as of right now. I haven't jammed a whole lot of albums this year though.

I checked quite a few, but this one has just been released and I already revisited it more than most of the others.

Actually not. Isthmus has been sitting in my library unplayed for a while (fuck being caught in other crap, just had to make some time for this one heh) and I have to try Tuonela and the two that people consider the weakest as well.

It's still a great album. Only 3 of their albums aren't up to par with the others imo.

I mean some are weaker than others, but it's an extremely solid discog.

Yeah it is. I'm sure the ones with the lower ratings would have been better approved if Tomi Joutsen was on them. This guy does so much for the band's sound.

You could start with this one tbh. Either this or Silent Waters would be perfect introductions.

Start with Skyforger IMO . I think the band sound has been changed in the last 10 years ,after Tomi joined (Changed for good) , so I think you can start with the above and then Silent waters , Eclipse Circle . The new album is heavier .
