Genesis were stunning live. We can tell the same thing about Jethro Tull, Supertramp, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, The Allman Brothers Band, Phish... to name only those that come off the top of my head.

I completely agree, dude. And much more great bands are absolutely astonishing when live.

Of course and among others, ELP too indeed ;) I still have to read your Pictures at an Exhibition. I'm listening to it at the moment...

Yeah, it's a wonderful album. It was one of my first contacts with them too. Thanks for your participation on my review.

Be prepared for a treat, Moose. I've seen them twice. You close your eyes and you swear it's Genesis. They are 7 musicians to accomplish it. Have a good time!

You're both some lucky ones. It's not Genesis but what matters? It makes us dream. It would be great for me because I never saw Genesis live. This is a big weak point in my music life, especially because Genesis is, probably, my favourite band.

I've seen both Duke and Abacab tours, featuring Chester Thompson on drums in duo with Phil Collins during the instrumental parts!!! (as you know it)... And Genesis has always been my favorite band, and I think it won't change in the future. If you get the chance, go see The Musical Box... It compensates for the Gabriel era shows you've missed...

Thanks fort the information Jethro. I'll do it if it will be possible. Again, it seems we have real very common music tastes. Great. As I usual say, Genesis was my first love and probably it will be the last too. It all began in 1975 with "Selling England", my first vinyl record. It wasn't a coincidence that my first review here was about that album.

@ jethro - i saw them for the first time last year and was blown away, i went with a mate of mine who saw genesis numerous times in those early years and he said he could barely tell the difference as the guys from the musical box nail absolouey everything.

Yes, the singer tells the same stories and he's also moving all the same. I remember the last time I saw them, they played ''Can Utility'' as last encore. I left the building all amazed needless to say. They are so great, so generous...

According to your profile, you're more like a metalhead, so all like the user KILL, you're into metal as much as into prog, aren't you...

I listen to metal mainly but i have always loved music as a whole, before i got into metal in my mid teens i listened to electronic stuff and hip hop also. Over time i've just done my beat to expand my horizons and follow where my curiosity takes me, oddly my few friends that are big music lovers and collectors are all into completely different styles. So as a result i get glimpses into tons of different stuff, i enjoy prog stuff but don't have a huge amount of it but i do have a fair amount of the "classics". My mate who got me into Genesis also got me into camel and jethro tull.

You have a diversified setting. I'm personally concentrated around prog rock and its subgenres, and everything close to it, such as classical, jazz, psychedelic, modern prog, even a bit of prog metal, etc. I grew up with classic prog acts of the 70s. While I still listen to them occasionally, I'm still more interested in discovering some modern or ethnic prog bands. I'm open to metal, but I'm rather limited in that category. And as the time goes by, the least I'm interested in the genre. I'm still digging stoner rock and the likes though. So most of the time, I keep on progging ;)

We'll never know, pal. But me, and I'm pretty sure that Jethro too, we like very much to talk with all people that like to talk about prog. Lol.
