Love Foals, don't love this album so much. Don't really like all the overdriven guitars and the songwriting. Anybody else getting Bono vibes from "What Went Down" and "Snake Oil"?

This kind of feels like Disc Two of Holy Fire. Lot of tracks I like ("Birch Tree" is pretty much what I want if they're going in this direction) but gets very boring around the middle.

Yeah Albatross, Snake Oil, and Night Swimmers just don't do much for me at all so far

Album is a natural progression after Holy Fire and as much as i loved TLF, I also dig this one way more than Holy Fire, feels like they took the right steps to improve the direction they chose with holy fire.

Yeah this is like a refined version of Holy Fire

I suppose so, it's just as layered and textured but pretty different; some early U2 or Coldplay sounding atmospheric ballads, a few guitar driven alt. rock songs (Night Swimmers, Lonely Hunter), and the first two heavy intense ones. I don't even know how to categorize the closer. Birch Tree is the closest they get to being poppy like on Holy Fire, and it's an album highlight anyway.

I dunno I came around to Snake Oil even though I found it offputting at the first listen. It's definitely one of the weaker tracks but still good.

They've basically taken the same objectives that they had for Holy Fire up, but did it better.

My least favorite tracks would be Albatross and Night Swimmers, which are a bit flat and overlong.
