I think in general more people prefer this over their debut and rightly so.

@JamieTwort Since you mention that, back in my Zep-fanaticism days, on their official forum there was no clear preference over any album. You could literally find devotees of Coda and In Through The Out Door in that forum. Zep definitely has one of the most devoted and loyal fanbases in the world. Thanks for reading ;)

@ILoveRadiohead i find you extremely aggressive in your writing that's why i respond angrily. Cool off your manners and we can talk all day and all of the night together.

Yes, you're right.

I really think that certain type of expressions should be avoided in the future.

We are on a free site and we have the right of like or not of certain bands.

Anyway, I think that what is intersting when we rate the review of anyone is the quality of the review and not our opinion about the group itself.

''when we rate the review of anyone is the quality of the review and not our opinion about the group itself''

Spot on. Unfortunately ILoveRadiohead doesn't live by this paradigm.

''just because I act like a douche''

Just because you act like a douche means that you deserve to be treated the same way. Now, fuck off my review.

Freedom of speech buddy. Expect a lot of it here.

If you want concise critique, here you go:

The review isn't terrible, but there are several big flaws in it: First of all, you talk about their first album too much, so much as if I was reading a fanboy soundoff in a different album's review. Your ideas fluctuate too often, making your review feel jumpy (too often, you talk about one thing, then bounce into something else, then something else, then back to the first idea). Your word choices are inconsistent, too often stacking good vocabulary into certain areas of the review where they could've been spread out for your poorer word choices (for every 'bombast' there is a 'good', and 'good' is an awful word to make descriptions with). You don't draw any comparisons or contrasts with any of their other albums, making the credentials of this review limited. This review also doesn't read out like a 4, more like a 3.5 or possibly lower.

If you want to make your reviews better, format them better. Here's some basic writing lessons: Paragraph 1 is your introductory (make your thesis the last sentence, and not the first. It should not come in too early or to late and should flow right into the following paragraphs), paragraph 2 should give us some background insight to make us familiar with what we're getting into (maybe add some facts, history, and most of all, start building your opinion), the next several paragraphs should be your main points (as stated in your thesis) with each one being divided into their own paragraph or two (keep each one in their own unless you have certain reasons to bring them up in another paragraph), and your last one should wrap things up without bringing up monotony (don't restate stuff over and over again and give a memorable impression).

@miketunneyiscool12 First of all, thank you for taking the time to offer constructive criticism.

''Freedom of speech buddy. Expect a lot of it here''

It goes both ways; not to mention that freedom of speech doesn't excuse rudeness ;)

Now about the criticism:

''you talk about their first album too much''

the comparison between this and the debut is vital; how else am i going to explain that this is, in my opinion, a weaker offering than the debut? only by comparing and explaining ;)

''Your ideas fluctuate too often''

I don't see that in my review. I feel that, compared to my earlier reviews, the flow is much better here. If you could elaborate on that a bit?

''Your word choices are inconsistent''

Yeah, I've used 'good' waaay too much here, gonna fix it. Thanks for the catch ;)

''You don't draw any comparisons or contrasts with any of their other albums''

The debut is the closest album in tone and feel to II. How am I gonna compare the rawness of II with the folkiness of III and the mysticism of IV. Not to mention the stylistic chaos of Holy and the 'epic' scope of Graffiti. In Through The Out Door is also too synth-driven to draw any comparisons so, i think you're wrong here bud.

''This review also doesn't read out like a 4''

Maybe, but I was super positive with 5 out 9 songs here, not to mention that on the epilogue, I said this is still Zep in their prime.

Thanks for your time anyway man, I appreciate it ;)

Great review man! Don't know what all the fuzz is about; it's nice to hear some negative stuff about this album for a change. It is a classic IMO, but I definitely agree with your negative comments on some of the tracks
