in my very humble opinion, and having the Byrds as my favorite group ever, I think Eight Miles High is a tad bit overrated, I understand its amazing guitar riffs and its importance in early psychedelic music, but people seem to praise a lot this tune as if it was the pinnacle of their career, but there are so much better and interesting songs on their discography, and Eight Miles High, kind of overshadow all of that.

I'm a big fan of the song but I think you gotta go with the live version at the Fillmore to truly appreciate it, those fuckers could jam.

I feel like this album is still a bit underrated and overlooked in terms of it's importance to the development of psychedelic rock.

Probably my favorite Byrds end to end, highly recommend experiencing lsd-induced ego death to the opening duo
