He sounds like a pirate when he sings

Thanks a ton Jacquibim. Appreciate the feedback. I tried to balance out the negatives by ending on a positive note, but that's a great point. I'll try to balance the negs next time.
I think the best songs are better than the best on Monolith, but overall it isn't as balanced. They seemed to have gone for something a little more reeled in here, with more of an emphasis on atmosphere.
I can't get enough of Plagueborn. That song is dripping with vibey, evil hooks.

The cleans sound odd. It sounds autotuned but not to the point it sounds overbearing. It's hard to explain but I'm not sure i like it or not.

Slightly autotuned, yeah. I think it just blends really well with the melody though, tbh

Sounds a little too much like a car commercial at times with your heavy use of adjectives. Maybe it's just me so don't take it harsh but I really look for the key words that let me know what I'm actually going to hear when I listen to the album which, while you definitely have that in here, is almost hard to find at times within what I like to call "fluff". Check out Adam Thomas for future reference because over the years of caring too little about how my reviews flow, to caring too much, to now not caring at all, I've learned simply from taking sentiment from his writing. To your credit, I've never heard this band before (crucify me) but you've convinced me to check this out.

That Manufactured Extinct riff is stuck in my head, one of the better death metal releases of this year.

Clandestine Ways, tho. Those bass and drum fills along with the solo.

Still not beating Monolith for me, no real stand out tracks except for maybe The Prophets of Loss and Manufactured Extinct. Travis Ryan's vocals are the sickest in death metal at the moment for me though, what a guy

Giving this another go currently. Still not doing anything for me. The cleans on this especially suck.

album rules at first go but monolith is better I think

Monolith takes a big steaming dump on this definitely

I just couldn't find any enjoyment in this, man. Did nothing for me.
August in general has pretty much been a disappointment so far. This and the new Wombbath both were incredibly underwhelming. Unless I'm forgetting something, the only thing Im hyped about is the new Adversarial
|
| |
Yeah pretty hyped for that as well. Even so that comes next month, which feels like a eternity away and I may not access to Soulseek on my college campus. Hopefully it leaks early or my order comes in before I go up to school

check deiphago
|
| |
fuck the clean vocals on this, at least deiphago doesn't have horribly transitioned into and overproduced robot vocals
