local business rocks, it just plays it a little safe. this however is even more ambitious than monitor and they pulled it off pretty damn well

how do u have a song called "a more perfect union" and then name a song "more perfect union" on a later album
what is this, japan?

it's really irritating since more perfect union might be the best song on the whole album (this, not the monitor although that song rules hard too)

Two listens in, and this is ridiculously good.

Titus Andronicus: The Most Lamentable Band

TA officially just became one of my favourite bands ever so i been scouring the net for rarities and stuff when i stumbled across this old band called The Library of Congress that a few members from TA played in, including Pat. this album they put out is pretty sick.

The only track I'm not really feeling is "Stable Boy". Not down with the accordion, man :/

AOTY so far tbh

it's weird how this hasn't blown up at all
why are there not 150 pages of the usual pisshead clownfuckarsery that happens here, does lambs have to invalidate this as a rip off of kendrick lamar
or do we just have to be tentative little waiting corner cummers until sowingseason reviews it with a suitably esoteric but (oooOOUuuuhHHHh) PROFOUND lyric as the summary

or, you know, the fact it leaked like 6 weeks before release
discussion is most likely on old Monitor threads?
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.0
Still, the thread is unexpectedly quiet
|
| |
not just the thread but the number of ratings
same thing happened to high on fire's new record, i thought that was slow out the blocks as well
people are just probably finding it hard to find leaks or something

I've been a fan since the Monitor...but fuck, this album sealed them as one of my favorite bands. This is just fantastic, they're firing on all cylinders. I don't 5 too many albums, but I feel compelled to for this one. Been listening it steadily the past month, mostly while running or driving, and it keeps me coming back to it. Can't wait to see them in October.

tom's right. im enjoying exploring the themes and the lyrics with each listen. they annotated many of the lyrics too on genius.
