Actually I haven't listened to whole album well, so it's first impression.
I will give this a few spin later, but I cannot enjoy the new guy's harsh vocals anyway.

they grew on me, although i do agree that they suck, the atmosphere of the album takes over and makes them bearable, and even somewhat likeable here and there.
the strong points are for sure the cleans, atmosphere, and production

yeah that actually could totally be it. i wonder how much influence he had on the writing process of the songs, he might've just shifted them away from metalcore to a more ambient sound

AM i the only one to think that the production is really lame here ?
I mean, it's not the same on every track ("Rot" and "Obelisk" don't have the same guitar sound) the mastering is not the same also, on almost every track the voice covers everything, and sometime they don't. Listen to Rot and Impulse and you'll see that on the second the guitars are really in the back.
Only that makes it less enjoyable to me. With a higher guitar sound it would have been waaaay better.

I liked Singularity quite a bit, so that's good to hear. But subpar production can be a big turnoff. :/

singularity was great, apart from 2 songs or so, and the production wasn't great either.
I haven't heard Node yet, but i didn't like any of the singles, mainly the vocals were a big let down compared to adrian, but the Northlane sound is still there I guess... Not sure if thats enough to win me over though.

It's tough to listen to band with a new vocalist with a totally open mind and not compare them to what they used to sound like. I feel that's what I'm going to have to really try to do with this one. The songs sound so different both vocally, even instrumentally at times.
