Nice review, this album desperately needed one. It's a shame it's so often overshadowed by the records that followed it, which are both utterly brilliant works anyways, because it definitely has its share of amazing moments. And although the music here is far from being as ambitious and interesting as what would follow, it's undeniable that even in a simpler form, as a folk trio, they had managed to accomplish something deep and meaningful that set them apart from any distinct scene.

Have you guys ever checked out Fiori-Seguin, the supergroup Fiori had formed with a great singer-songwriter right after Harmonium's break-up? Stylistically, I'd say it sets itself halfway between this and l'Heptade, in that it is definitely a singer-songwriter album, yet with very lush arrangements and sonic exploration.

Yep, I own it. Solid album, too bad it's the only one.

Yeah it's an excellent album for the most part, although it's not as memorable and outstanding as anything Harmonium have put out. Still, it's practically a Harmonium record, since it was performed by most if not all of the band's musicians of the L'Heptade era. And the link between the two records is apparent in my opinion; in fact I've always considered Deux Cents Nuits à l'Heure as some sort of companion piece to L'Heptade.

@Onirium I'd put Fiori-Seguin over this though.

I only heard Fiori-Seguin once, but I think it lacks the emotion seen in here

I don't think you've heard Fiori-Seguin, cos it's nothing else than sheer emotions, and the melodies are gorgeous from start to finish.

I'm saying it lacks emotion only when compared to Harmonium's work

I invite you to revisit it. Album is kind of a lost Harmonium album.

Songs are sadly not in order. Link is a genre of mish mash. Nothing is perfect. Maybe you should take it one song at a time.
