No worries Titan. At this point of their career, it was expected. But you always have hope dude. Maybe next album is better haha.

It pains a little to say but some parts of this are really boring, I could cut out a few tracks entirely ("Delirium"). Why must every track begin in the same way, dear DeFeis? Yeah! Rawh! Uh! AWWWWW!

I like some of the calmer melodies though.

And the sad thing is that DeFeis, in his heydays, was one of the most talented metal vocalists. Not only he does those corny vocal gymnastics all the time but a lot of the parts are probably computer processed.

I think one of the problem with David Defeis is that he abuse and prioritizes his screams, growls and other weird sounds that made him well known in the Power Metal Scene over the music and the Heavy sound of his better albums

Great review. Such a letdown, after all these years of waiting. I can still remember having to wait years for The Black Bachaflippidipoo, and while enjoying it, really being disappointed of the diminishing quality of the 6 albums before it.

There are still many parts in this album wherein you can hear that certain Virgin Steele songwriting. It's just as you said, David just fucking ruins it with his constant wailing. Perhaps if his vocals where a bit more in the background of the production. As it stands now, it's just a nightmare to listen to with headphones.

Also, please do review some of their older works please. I've been hestitating for quite some time to review something of Marriage or House of Atreus, but I'm sure my terrible writing and fanboy status wouldn't do the albums justice.

Thanks man. Yeah, I'll try to review one of their classics at some point in the future. It's a shame that the only review on here is a negative one.

Can't really enjoy this even by force. There is a lot to like as far as melody and chill winter-y atmosphere go but the vocals are grating for the most part, just take the chorus from "Queen of the Dead".

Haven't listened to this one since the review and I don't think that I'll ever listen to it again. I'm kinda surprised by the average rating though.

Things would probably change if more users were interested in checking this out, 1/4 of the ratings are 5s.

Indeed. Loyalty seems to be very high among devoted Virgin Steele fans, as it seems.

I could dig some parts of this if they weren't surrounded by other parts I don't want to sit through, so frustrating.
