This album gives me the same feeling that listening to Lost in the Sound of Separation/Come Now Sleep/The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi for the first time gave me. A band I know and love just blowing it out of the water.

I was just lurking haha. I only ever reddit when I find a very specific thread (like the Pale Horses one) - I loved that discussion on the album, though. It was cool to see everybody experiencing this record for the first time!

Only recently heard Come Now Sleep but I agree hard - one of those times when a slight change of tack is infinitely beneficial

Oh fair enough, thought you might be a regular. It was a super good thread though, you could taste the anticipation through the screen, so much excited energy

Loved it dude, Timothy espesh is absolutely colossal. Bit hesitant to check their other records, I've heard that they sound nothing like CNS

Yeah the first one is pretty standard post-hardcore, love it but it isn't anything too special. The third album Hell or High water however is highly recommended, it was basically them going "fuck it lets just do what we want" since they knew the band wasn't going to last at that point. It's a great record make sure you get the version with the bonus tracks Gates however. Makes the album so much better haha other wise it kind of ends on a sour note.

hmm. not sure what to think. Having listened to mwY for roughly 13 years, I look forward to each album and enjoy all of them. However, while this is objectively a solid record, I just don't get any sense of excitement after listening to this 2x through. I recognize all the elements are there for this to be in my top 3 for them but in reality I'm just not that compelled to keep listening to it. I know I will revisit it, but I would expect to want to listen to it over and over like I did back when Brother, Sister came out. Hopefully it grows on me. I think it could use some room to breathe at times.

It's okay, not as good as their other albums so far, but hopefully that will change. I just don't find it as engaging

I only heard it all once- in a very casual setting- but, it didn't really pull me in either. I need to get this today.
