yeah it's not him on the verses, but it definitely sounds like him in the chorus. he does most of the singing on wolf king. i thought he was really good there

Eh, I have never liked him as a clean vocalist, but that's just me. He has a great scream, but I have always thought he should have just stuck with that and let someone else do cleans, maybe just do back up or something on the occasion.

I also like how the cover art says" As Performed by Haste the Day", as if they didn't even write this record.

I find your rating comical, to say the least. Considering the fact that, in your opinion, August Burns Red as well as Killswitch Engaged are top metalcore bands.
I think they are not within the mainstream as much, if you will. Honestly, Coward is Haste's best album and if you were a fan to begin with, you would attest to that.
At least they have some variety in their sound and do not have messy as fuck song structures (le August Burns Red).
I've heard they're inspired by alt bands such as Deftones and Chevelle, among others. Whether there's truth to this, I don't know, but it's apparent that some tracks have a "Deftonish" sound to them.
Give White As Snow from AOTWK a listen. So in terms of diversity and talent, yeah man, they got it. I doubt you enjoy Norma Jean or While She Sleeps either.
These are the bands who Haste could consider peers. August is just beginner metalcore drivel.
Anyhow, nice review man and I pos'd. Cant fault the writing dude. So there's that.

More or less the other way around, both Deftones and Chevelle started way before these guys did.
"At least they have some variety in their sound and do not have messy as fuck song structures"
I feel like the "variety" ends up making the record inconsistent which is what ends up killing it for me. Pretty much my biggest problem. I commend them for their ambition it's just I can't really buy into it the way they're going at it.

same. the duel vox is awesome. kinda want another one now although this was a good send off the band just gets better and better. i also thought attack of the wolf king was a great send off until this

attack of the wolf king is stellar but it didn't feel like a proper sendoff because we didn't know they were breaking up at the time. this is a much better "final" album imo (although if they wanted to make more i would love that too)
