@Insurrection thats awesome! I can tell you my first was From Under the Cork Tree which is pretty stereotypical for my age I think. You on the other hand had something unique.

This album definitely changed how I perceive music, too. Love it so much. Going to see Muse this Saturday, absolutely buzzing!

The first album I ever heard was probably like a Sesame Street soundtrack or something, but if you mean the first album you ever wittingly listened to on your own (not your parents playing something in the car when you're 8) was probably Styx's The Grand Illusion. First modern album I listened to on my own was American Idiot.

Sam's Town was mine, but the album that got me interested in music was American Idiot.

@Sowing American Idiot the song I can distinctly remember myself listening to during an assembly in 5th grade. Thats a pretty stereotypical first album as well haha

Anyone aged 16-20 right now probably owns a copy of American Idiot or has some sort of memory of it.

Thanks Art, appreciate it!

@Feather I was never a fan of either bands, or Paramore for that matter.

endless was always one of my favorites from this because of the feels i got from it

shit sounds like a guy who's wife is in a vegetable state, but he doesn't want to give up on her just in case she wakes up one day, and so he spends like his entire life waiting for her even though she never wakes up

that probably has nothing to do with the song itself, but i always imagined it that way

and the end is all I can seeeeeeeeee

If this album removed The Small Print and Ruled by Secrecy, and ended on Thoughts of a Dying Atheist it would probably be a 6/5 album.
