Nicer review. I' surprised at how much I've listened to this album since it dropped. The title track has been one of my favourite tracks as of recent.

Never listened to these guys but I just listened to the title track and I dig it. That piano comes in and really sets the tone/mood, vid wasn't bad either

The title track certainly leans a bit more towards their new sound. Widower or Neverbloom are some highlights from the last album and good examples of the other side of their sound, if you wanna get a good idea of everything the band is capable of. Both albums are worthwhile imo, and the ep is solid too

Yeah, for some reason this album hit me in a certain way. It has a ridiculous amount of emotion behind it.

Yeah I agree with that. Too bad blood moon in particular brings the album down so hard for me.

I enjoy blood moon. I mean yeah it's mindless junz but it has charm. I'm probably just biased because I love this band.

This is great, but I'd like to hear more of those screeches like in 'Marionette'. The 2010 EP is filled to the brim with them.

Blood Moon grew on me a ton. I know it's really chuggy and easily the least appealing song on the album but I've come to enjoy it for what it is. Louisa really nails her section on that song, it's probably her best vocal display thus far and that adds a lot imo. I also enjoy the lyrical content, which could be said for the entire album, but something about the two sides of a broken mind giving opposing statements is interesting to me.

How is this band labelled as black and death metal?

I found this album under those genres and expected it to be something along those lines, and it sounds like damn metalcore.

"How is this band labelled as black and death metal?"

I think it's mainly the vocals, but I agree that beyond that this band doesn't really have much death or black metal in it at all, more along the lines of deathcore/metalcore. Album still slays though.
