Yeah, if The Dillinger Escape Plan and Exotic Animal Petting Zoo are considered similar bands, then the band is probably incredible. I'll listen to them later today.

This is the album when they transitioned more into humor and out of the emo depression stuff. I welcome the change tbh, because I rarely listen to the very angsty stuff anymore.

i like the crazy vibe of Anamnesis better, but this still is very good

This is crazier of the two though, from a music standpoint at least. Anamnesis is airtight prog metal, although it does flaunt those post-hxc freakouts when needed.

yeah "crazy" might not be the best adjective, but basically i liked the forays into trip-hop or Latin that they did on Anamnesis.

Sad you didn't like the calm moments here, I think they shine and mesh well with the chaotic outbursts + poppy, alt-metal-ish cuts that show up occasionally. Very balanced and varied.
