What is with this website's fascination with Taylor Swift? I mean you guys hardly care about any other popstars. What honestly makes her stand out are more important/better? (2)

Guess i didn't really need to post that given the fact that a few ppl have already answered, but i just don't get why this album has in the 3-4 range, when any other mainstream radio pop-star on this site is lucky to get above a 2.5... This album is in the same camp as all other female pop-radio fare, but somehow it's better than Katy Perry, ke$ha meghan trainor, etc.?

Hey, tuna, how's it going? Happy with the UK votes?

@ all the pro-1989 guys:

I'm not too fond of the whole synth-pop era that is going on right now, even if there are definitely good albums. But this is really damn uninteresting and nothing I'd really listen too. It's not particularly bad, not like Maroon 5's last LP for example, but it all sounds so damn samey and stale. No emotion at all and the blandest lyrics. The songs aren't fun enough to compensate that. But yeah, it still is better than Katy Perry or Kesha.

Thats my biggest gripe with the album at least, a lot of the songs are just kinda uninteresting because its just another face in the synth pop craze. I do believe if you're not too familiar with the genre you'll like it far more than others.

New Romantics is really pretty good.

The verses are great, especially since the vocals sound more natural and less forced. But she really hasn't got the hang of making good choruses with this sound yet. It's the typical overloaded and loud crap one seems to get from most popular synth-pop acts. Strange really, I always thought she was great at writing stupid, catchy choruses that aren't annoying.

I don't really care for her country side but this is just fun to listen to. Plus I like Taylor cause she comes across as a genuine person, doesn't seem too conceited or anything

I'd say at least you haven't got Farage, but Cameron really seems to be on his way to become Farage himself. Wasn't a surprise at all though, he got all the votes the LibDems lost. Typical thing with such an unbalanced coalition.

@Mutantsnowstorm

It's kind of strange that everyone says, it's fun to listen to. Over half of the songs are mid-tempo ballads and not very emotional ones I'd say. Only a small amount of songs that I could really imagine being fun to listen to.

But yeah, seems pretty genuine, she just lost me when she cut her hair and put on red lipstick. That's when she went for the typical pop star thing nowadays.

It was a massacre for Miliband, Farage and Clegg.

@Tunaboy

Well, at least two of them really deserved it.

Labour is completely destroyed though. Blair was the worst thing that could've happened to them.

@Kris it would seem people have just lost faith in Labour, which is sad

Well, they dug their own grave. Blair was at times more Torie than the Tories, Brown was pretty weak and Ed seemed to be the less useful than his brother (I'm rather guessing on Brown and Miliband).

But overall the moderate left destroys itself all over Europe, there's not much left of it.

I just hope Cameron doesn't destroy the NHS as we know it
