wait are you saying you don't like this particular China Cat recording? or China Cat as a whole song? that's easily in my top 5 Dead tunes for me and one of the first songs i really binged on repeat hardcore
i mean it would be blasphemy to be a Dead fan and not be a fiend for China > Rider right? one of the best combos in their repertoire. as far as 60s/70s dead goes China Cat was often the highest energy of the sets!

Relax lol, not saying that, China>Riders are the backbone of a lot of Dead shows, especially 68-71
I love a good china cat combo, but my tastes for dead songs comes and goes, right now into the 70’s combos
Scar>fire
Help>slip>franklins
Playing>ujb>China doll
Lost sailor> saint
You have been on a bumping terror today, love it

China Cat is one of my lesser favs of their tunes but in the medleys it is better for me. Just realized I fogot to check this but I will fix that this week. Sugar Magnolia is the one that kills most setlists for me though. Still a good song but easily one of my least favorite Dead Tunes that just happens to appear in most of their setlists

And my initial comment on China Cat was too strong, didn’t mean to say I didn’t like the tune at all Motoko

i love both songs so i am biased but that's fair lol. there are a lot of songs in their 80/90s sets that i'd pick as being the biggest mood killers but that's just me
i suck at guitar but when i mess around with it i always play the China Cat lick!
definitely listen to this dick pic though, it's fire
