"mbdtf is inconsistent too tbh, but I know that's not a popular opinion around here"
Ehh...I don't really see it

Album Rating: 3.5
Yeah, I don't either. It's one of the few albums where I loved every song.

MBDTF is pretty consistent, Blame Game and Hell of a life are the only songs I'm kind of eh on.

Aw man, Hell Of A Life is sick. So Appalled would have to be the weakest link imo.

Reviews good but album still kinda sucks imo.

same. i used to say it was his undisputed masterpiece, but now i much prefer this and college dropout

Curious to hear why you'd prefer this, I felt like MBDTF was better in almost every way

Blame Game and Runaway both kinda drag on longer than they should
That second verse on Blame Game is incredible
And I'd say that my favorites on MBDTF would probably be Power and Devil In A New Dress

the songs I dislike on mbdtf usually drag on too long (runaway, blame game) or are just not very good (hell of a life, so appalled). that being said I still enjoy the album. devil in a new dress is crazy good

chinesewhispers I'm not him obviously and I haven't really listened to them extensively enough to give them both fair ratings but personally for me these two albums kind of both appeal to a certain feeling (frustration, mostly) and Yeezus does it a lot better. MBDTF is something cohesive and magnificent but Yeezus has an understated beauty to it. IMO the production is better, or at the very least more interesting. the pure contrast in songs like "Blood On The Leaves," "Bound 2" and "New Slaves" is amazing. MBDTF sounded like what everyone thought a perfect Kanye album circa 2010 should sound like but Yeezus sounds like something new and much more exciting, to me anyway. /rant

"same. i used to say it was his undisputed masterpiece, but now i much prefer this and college dropout"
agreed pretty hard. I can acknowledge MBDTF is a great album but it is one of my least favourite Kanye albums, I find myself coming back to Yeezus and College Dropout again and again without ever getting sick of them

"We get this bitch shakin' like Parkinson's"
Eminem basically said the same line first on Recovery and it always pissed me off more than it should when I would listen to this album when it came out.
