I can't do it even if I got a copy sent or brought back?

Sure but let's be honest that doesn't happen in 99.99999% of cases. We just don't want to be condoning illegal downloads or leaked albums.

I don't know what you're talking about. I had it brought back to me by a friend who was very recently overseas.

I've never seen anything special in tools music, especially in there new song Vicarious. It was a basic song of the genre, the only thing that stood out a bit were the drums.

Did you mention this anywhere? I'm not trying to give you a hard time but like I said 99.9999% of the time someone submits an early review they are reviewing an illegally obtained copy. We obviously have no proof of whether or not you are telling the truth unless we get a picture of you with the album or something, and obviously we don't need to bother with that. These reviews will be left up because the album has already been released in continental Europe but in my opinion the official release date should be UK or the US?Canada whichever comes earlier, and nothing before that. Since probably 80-85% of Sputnik users come from there.

I'd give this album a 4. It might not be a huge, groundbreaking album, but I thought it was very enjoyable.

Three reviews of one album in two days. I don't care what any of them say, I'm getting this. But, hard as it is for me to accept it, good review but I'm hoping that the album is better than you say, just because it's Tool.

It's a nice review. I agree with this album being a dissapointment as it lacked progression and good music at some times. We were all expecting grand things from this album and instead got left with an inonsistent album which fails to flow in any sort of direction. I mean; Jambi finishes, then WFM just grinds the whole album to a halt. Then after 10k days the pot tries to liven the mood up, it really doesn't work.

To be honest this was the album i was looking forward to this year. The fact that i've played the new saves the day record 5 times more speaks for itself.

3.5/5 (Because it does sound alright, after i get over the fact that tool made it)

with a band as musically dense and complex as tool, i find it hard to accept that a review could be written that would truly reflect the album within a day of its release. i for one am going to wait a week or two and with any luck, someone will have listened to it enough times for it to sink in properly, and do a decent review.

tbh, i think there should be a two week exclusion zone around album releases on sputnik, so that no1 can review anything without having had sufficient time to fully appreciate the album in question.

I completely agree with all these people who have said that you need to wait a couple weeks for i to sink in.

In the review you kept comparing the album to Lateralus but when I first bought Lateralus it took almost a monht for me to really appreciate it.

I partly agree with grimbo. Especially with a band like Tool, where the music takes multiple listens to sink it. But I don't agree with the two week exculsion period or whatever.

Also in your review you seemed to be implying that Tool sold out. I haven't heard this album yet, but I highly doubt a band would perfect an album for as long as Tool has been on 10,000 Days for it to be a cash grab. Other than that, decent review. Seemed like it was just thrown together to counter the 2 classic reviews.

Edit: Before you ask, it wasn't me that negged you. This Message Edited On 04.30.06

maynard could record himself taking a crap and tool fans would call it a masterpiece.

the only song i've heard off of this is "vicarious", and i was left with a mix of dissapointment and satisfaction. the drumming was better than ever, but everything just sounded like a boring rehash of lateralus. if the rest of the album is the same way, i probably wont buy it.

I'd call this better than Undertow, not as good as Ænima. With that said, it almost seems as if Jones' playing has regressed back to more of his Undertow style of guitar playing though...

My favorite song from the album is Intension, followed by Right in Two. I couldn't agree more with the idea of using more electronics. It is something that is used so sparsely by Tool and their kin that it would make the band stand out even more.

Oh, and as far as the album being a let down, I agree. I only got into Tool around the beginning of last year, so I'm a relatively new Tool fan. Even so, I've been looking forward for this to be "the album of '06." After listening to it, I can't say that it is that album. (If anything is, it would be Synchestra by Devin Townsend) Anyways, maybe it's my fault for try to predict how the album would sound. This Message Edited On 04.30.06

fair point, but i had heard all but one of hte tracks from Come Clarity in the two weeks previous to its release (yeah, illegal downloading, but at least i did go and buy it when it came out)

but to be fair, my opinion on it hasnt changed, and that was a one-off from me, everything else i've reviewed has been way after the release date.
