Almost everything 420 said is wrong except for the apostrophe after "companies". Please don't do what he said. Those colons aren't needed (and in the first case is 100% incorrect), religious references is right, "a glassy flow" is fine, and actually the word you need is "presence" rather than "presents" in that other case.

No offense to anyone, but I really get the feeling a lot of critiques come from people who have no actual background in writing...

"collection of tracks that each has it's own" - its*

@someguy - are you sure it's "presence" (noun)? he's saying each track "presents" (verb)...

@Someguy
"each have their own unique feel and presence a very diverse range of music to the listener."

That sounds correct doesn't it?
Btw the correction to that sentence was that he was using a singular subject yet describing it as if it was plural

I admit I was wrong with the colon, but the deleting the 'a' was simply cause it read a little better, and other the colons were suggested for the same reason, it just reads better, also can you explain what was wrong with the other suggestions? If I don't know then how am I supposed to avoid making bad suggestions in the future?

I dunno F&L was great overall but it has that cheesy and preachy feel that he kind of needed to ditch at some point, which is definitely what he did here and is part of why it excels... gotta relisten to The Cool sometime too, seem to remember it sounding a lot more mature than F&L

This totally caught me off guard - was not expecting Lupe to return to form.

"Peeling back the layers to this album is as challenging and fun as it was with Food and Liquor and The Cool"

was pretty obvious what just about all the lyrics on F&L were about though

F&L did nail the style it was going for, don't get me wrong it's a great album. Its cover still sucks though ughh

This album is so good that I can pretty much look at his last two releases as nonexistent. An eight year hiatus if you will. It's what I wanted after The Cool.

Meh F&L II wasn't bad at all, Battle Scars just sucked and Heart Donor was also a disappointing song if I remember correctly

Have a big-ass essay due on the 30th but once I've (started and) finished that I'm gonna start looking into all these lyrics properly. Winter is the only easy to digest section of this album to me, in terms of lyrics

f&l2 was boring and didn't have that soul and drive that his first two had. it had some good flows, but that's about it.

I mean I get what you're saying but I felt like it was fittingly similar to the first F&L without sounding like he was just trying to copy that old style. He was definitely still passionate about some of the issues he was writing about too, but I agree that overall the soul and drive was stronger in his first couple of albums. But that's kind of to be expected when you go from being a hungry up and coming rapper to a successful and well-established one
