Might be the reason. I just think all of us have to get rid off the picture of them still being the old FFAF. Only 2 out of 5 are original members, so those changes are just natural. I'm still a fan and the album is decent enough to relisten it once in a while.

How can it be a 2.5 when it has Donny? Possibly the best track they've ever written. Damn good album.

I am extremely intrigued after reading the review and all these comments.

I would recommend it Storm
it's not perfect but at least it's passionate and they sound like they care about what they're making
as opposed to Welcome Home Armageddon which was perfectly executed but totally plastic and soulless

I'm listening to this now. Those vocals were rough as fuck on the first somg and not in a good way. I agree kind of about Welcome Home. Conduit was great but Memory and Humanity is my favorite album since their "glory days".

The start of this album is definitely the worst part, wait till you get to Modern Excuse and Donny

I really like conduit, but this isn't doing it for me. I got a bad vibe from this album as soon as I saw the album cover art. The songwriting is so bland.

Finally settling down with their current line-up, Funeral For a Friend continue to explore their hardcore & punk side on 7th LP 'Chapter and Verse'. The raw production of Lewis Johns is borderline demo-like, as the Welsh quintet are relentlessly intense here. Matt Davies' shouting vocals are sure to prove divisive, while outgoing drummer Pat Lundy once again impresses behind the kit. At their best when infusing melody into the equation, this album is front-loaded & gets a little over-bearing towards the end of its 38 minute duration. Recommended Tracks: You've Got a Bad Case of the Religions, Inequality, Pencil Pusher & You Should Be Ashamed of Yourself.

I'm disappointed in you Davey aka TooNiceGuy. This album is average and even Donny or 1% can't save it.
Disclaimer: FFAF is possibly my favourite band of all time. So I don't hate this for the sake of hating. Just being honest.

No problems Loli. I'd say that on the first couple of listens, I had this around about your rating. But it just grew & grew on me. Even Trey's initial comment on the first page of comments was something like "horrible", but has recently come around to rating it a 3. And I don't even have Donny or 1% in my 4 best tracks!

Actually my initial score was 3.5 but after the hype vanished I noticed how average most of this record is. :/ A very strong 2.5 though, scratching at the 3.

I kinda flip-flopped on this as well after giving their discography another listen. The band just sounds tired at this point.

This band needs to stop making music. They used to be one of my favourites.

Seriously, just what happened to this band? Seven Ways to Scream Your Name, Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation, and Hours were all great. I just don't understand since it wasn't like they put out one good album and then the rest sucked. Even though it wasn't amazing, I dug a few tunes on Conduit. Chapter & Verse, however, doesn't have one standout tune, IMO. It's such a bummer since I love their early stuff. All the stuff after Hours has just felt phoned in and so uninspired

Obviously the quality is nowhere near their earlier material, but honestly reckon there's some decent tunes in bad case of the religions, 1% and Donny, everything else is pretty average.
Glad the band realised now to call it quits instead of continually release sub-par material.
