1.The review is way too verbose.
"It is quite accurate to say DJ Premier and Royce da 5'9 have always had tremendous chemistry together. Given the slew of absolute bangers and bonafide jams they have put out in the past (see "Hip Hop", "Boom", "Hood Love", "Something 2 Ride 2"), in my humble opinion, PRhyme was a duo in the making for over a decade. Combining Premo's crisp, hard-hitting boom bap and Royce's smooth delivery, PRhyme is nearly Gang Starr reincarnated (the homie Royce even look like Guru)." You can sum all that up by saying:
' Prhyme was a duo building chemistry for over a decade.' with tracks x x x and x, that display the combination of Premo's hard hitting beats and Royce's smooth delivery on
2. You don't need to have cliche/redundant sayings like "in summation" or "it is quite accurate to say", and using the first person sounds tacky.
3. The review has kind of a goofy-out-of-touch tone when you consider the album you are reviewing. "containing moderate funk undertones and Adrian Younge samples, the instrumentals match Royce and supporting casts' barrage of witty punchlines, pop culture references, and hyperbolic braggadocio."
You should be less formal. Show some attitude that relates to the artist you are reviewing, like GnarlyShalleigh does. Use smaller words.
|
| |
you should not listen to those things
|
| |
gonna see this in cleveland even though i've never even listened to em
|

Actually he has some points, like you maybe just use an unnecessary amount of words in general. Like why is that 'in my humble opinion' needed really? But you don't have to cut it down as much as Lambs is saying I'd say
|
| |
Like cut it down a bit maybe but not to the point where it just looks like an overly informal soundoff

well i thought using descriptors like "witty punchlines, pop culture references, and hyperbolic braggadocio" were fair enough and not out-of-touch since that is what a lot of the album is. funk overtones sounds dumb but i think it was necessary to mention that the entire instrumental part of the album sampled Adrian Younge's work. I use the same cliched transitions all the time, so I'll cut those out along with a lot of the first person shit like "in my humble opinion"

this gets better and better, at first listen this was barely even enjoyable to me, I really think people are just writing it off like they did new Eminem, they have the same type of complex rhyme Detroit style that only becomes enjoyable with a bunch of listens.

Beats were disappointing for preemo standards, but the rhymes were cool.
