Oh, and btw:
When I originally said TAOG2's artwork was darker than 1's, I was talking about this color scheme: http://dev1.mtimg.com/product_photos/imgs/000/013/288/full/OMG_ape_SIGE33_LP-1.jpg
I changed that part anyways for good measure, though.

"This may not seem like a big deal to some, but it does very well reflect the notion that the band is living up to the “Gloom” part of their name."
a qualm with this sentence: How? just cuz songs are long don't mean they are "gloomy". better if you get rid of it and let the subsequent sentences speak for themselves.
"Aaron Turner’s vocals are still as harsh and raspy as you can remember"
this might seem like a poor critique on my part since some people getting into this might already know of Isis, but as a reader new to the band how would I remember if I didn't? remember also that the band technically has three vocalists, Caleb providing for Predators.
"As previously mentioned, bassist Caleb Scofield and guitarist Nate Newton don’t disappoint"
when were they mentioned until then though?
the last two sentences seem a bit forced, but that's just me. everything is well-done.

Sweet rev Oranges my love that last paragraph is god-like
The first part is a tad confusing though because first you say it's impossible to write the review without addressing the fake album thing and then in the next sentence you say it's irrelevant, might wanna clean that up

"I was talking about this color scheme"
ah but that's AoG1's cover

@Rowbro Thanks, will fix.
@Relinquished Yeah, that was what I meant. I was saying that this album's cover had a darker color scheme than that version of AoG1. Whatever, that's past us now, haha. As for your other critiques: Thanks for actually taking the time to point out stuff I can improve on instead of just saying "gud review, pos'd hard", and I will fix those up right now.

Aye. I haven't written a really positive review in a while, and I suppose it's starting to show. Fair enough, though. If I ever get the chance to, I'll see if I can throw in another paragraph with that in mind. Thanks for the feedback, though.

Solid review EO, I liked the second paragraph a lot man, pos'd. Just a few comments:
"The truth is that whether or not the idea of a bunch of music journalists unknowingly giving praise to a fake album seems hilarious or pointless actually has very little effect on the effect and overall value of The Ape of God on its own."
Bit of a mouthful considering there is no pause. I would add a comma after pointless and then follow with 'it actually has....etc'. Also, "very little effect on the effect". Change that ASAP.
Imo there's a lot of repetition on the first paragraph and the first half of the second as well, specifically with the use of the band name as opposed to more pronouns. It's a bit off-putting. The album name also suffered a similar problem although it's tricky because the first and second part have such similar titles. I'll let you figure it out haha, I have no solution to that.
"Here, you feel a far greater sense of fragmentation and emptiness, as opposed to the primal, animalistic rage of The Ape of God I." I love this sentence, just wanted to point that out.
Overall, good review mate and a pos from me.

I prefer part 1 to this but they're damn close, and honestly i view them as a total package (and that total package is still my aoty)
good review for the most part, but there's some unnecessary fluff
