Definitely got a laugh out of me at the end of the first paragraph, though the last paragraph seems a bit snobby. You could easily edit it to just say it lacks playback value and why, without making it sound like anyone that can overlook these issues and give it a higher rating is just a "casual hip hop fan". But anyway pos'd the review cos overall it was a good read

Yeah, a good read.

I agree with @amanwithahammer about the last paragraph though, it does seem overgeneralised.

The thing is though, I don't think their lyrical content is what it is for any other reason than keeping the subject matter relatively fun and light. That being said, I get what you're saying, I just disagree that non-"casual" hip hop fans will not find much to like here. They just set out to make fun albums with lots of bangerz and they do a damn good job of it.

I really like Crown though and I hope they make some more stuff in that vein in the future.

i agree with this a fair bit, el p's flow is not too good in comparison to killer mike but its still a fun album none the less

@ILJ I find the lyricism bad in every aspect. The rhyming is usually basic and mediocre (especially

compared to their solo albums). The wordplay hardly even qualifies as wordplay. "beat you to a pulp

no fiction" passes off as a good word play (multiple people actually quoted that in their reviews!).

The few times they actually try to say anything with any substance at all, their raps/flows become

awkward and their message usually come across as foolish.

Crown is a good example, it sounds cool, but when you focus in the message its pretty dumb. 'I sold

a pregnant mother some crack, but its ok her kid is retarded now, she found Jesus and I feel better'

Cue ladies singing OoooooOOOooooo over-dramatically to give it some fake-soul.

and Lie Cheat Steal sounds like an elementary school anthem, or something you would hear at a

junior-

high dance.

I thinkk this album is an embarrassment for either of them from a lyrical standpoint. Thats why I

think people who are more into hip hop for its lyrics (who in my opinion are 'real' hip hop fans)

aren't going to like this.

Compare any similar track on RAP Music to this and RAP Music's is better.

GO!> Oh My Darling Don't Cry

RAP Music> Blockbuster Night - Part I

Don't Die> Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck)

Anywhere But Here> All My Life

Reagan> Lie, Cheat, Steal

Ghetto Gospel> Early

Untitled> All Due Respect

Southern Fried> Love Again

Willie Burke Sherwood> Crown

That's not what he says. He felt guilty because he was part of the reason her son turned out the way he is. That's part of the reason he changed his ways. She ended up forgiving him and wishing him well since she got her life together.
