Great review. The line "a ton of subtlety and much more melody than fans might be expecting" makes me feel like this might be worth lending an ear to.

It's possible that you could get into a lot of what's on this album. It would probably only be the really thrashy ones that would put you off.

Just got it from Amazon, only £8 for 28 songs and what is essentially 2 decades of music, think it should have been more haha

Sounding great so far

The Amazon listing price was an error (obviously) on the part of CDBaby and was supposed to have
corrected almost 2 weeks ago, but there is nothing else I can do about it.

I did not announce it because I did not want to draw attention to the fact that they have it for sale
there for the wrong price. It is supposed to be listed and priced as a 2-volume set and not a single
album.

Ah shit sorry man, I even got it from Amazon cause when my friend released his own music he said the artist got more from Amazon than iTunes which appears to have the same price, that I now realise is obviously an error too...

hey, it's not your fault. Amazon & iTunes are both messed up at the moment and I will get about 1/3-1/2 what I get from a CDBaby sale until it is fixed. it should be listed as Vol 1 and Vol 2 so the price should be 2x what you saw making the CDBaby price the lowest at $16.99 which is still pretty cheap for a 2 1/2 hour long album of 28 songs.

Fucking pumped for this.

Is the official release date in 2014 or 2015? I'm almost sure this would make my year end list.

The digital is 2014. The physical is 2015. So 2014.

Are the drums real or programmed? They sound real, but I didn't realize Kenn was a drummer as well.

very, very, very meticulously programmed by a guitarist who can also "think" like a drummer. ;-)

And I can actually play drums a little, but not like these songs.

Wow, I was convinced they were real based on how natural it sounds. Nice work!

Looking forward to purchasing this later tonight.

As Meshuggah's Thomas Haake has said, certain drumming software packages ARE the drums.

Thanks for the positive comments on the drums guys. I put a LOT of time into NOT making them sound
like an obvious "drum machine". I only used a $35 software package and virtually all of my own
cymbal/drum sounds sampled by me with a real kit. Some songs are nearly note-for-note what my actual
drummer played/would have played and the rest are my own arrangements.

So far this is amazing on all accounts. Within the first six songs my two faves are for now: Armies of one and Dead letters. This brings back memories of the past. I saw Anacrusis a long, long time ago in Germany (Zeche Carl Essen) Still have the shirt I bought back then, tho its soooo washed out. Thanks so much for this album Kenn!!!

The CD is not available right now?

Even though the drums are programmed, they somehow sound fantastic. Nardi, whatever you did, it made this sound
superb.

Oh yeah this album probably has my favorite vocal performance this year
